Sky Bet League One Sheffield United have taken young hot-shot Matthew Shevlin on trial, and are keen to swoop for the striker ahead of Premier League side Crystal Palace, according to HITC Sport.
The 16-year-old Northern Irishman has scored four goals so far this season in his homeland whilst playing for Ballymena United ,and has caught the eye of several English clubs, including Scottish giants Celtic.
It is thought that Palace will make a bid for the player during the January transfer window but it now looks as though Sheffield United may have jumped to the front of the queue for the skilful forward.
It will be interesting to see where the highly-rated Shevlin does end up and also at just 16-years-old, it will be intriguing to see whether the player develops at the rate these interested clubs seemingly think he will do.
Nigel Adkins’ Sheffield United have had a relatively strong start to their 2015/16 campaign, and they sit in sixth place in Sky Bet League One, having accrued 17 points from ten league games.
