Sheffield United have signed teenage Ghanaian goalkeeper Jordan Yamoah Amissa, according to an exclusive report on Ghana Soccernet.

The 16-year-old has spent time with Holsterhausen Herne, Bochum and Schalke before joining Borussia Dortmund for last season.

There he won the German Under-17 league although he only made one appearance which came in a 3-0 win against Dusseldorf on the final day of the season.

Amissa is 6ft 5 and will go into the Blade's development squad ahead of the new season.

He becomes the second goalkeeper to move to Bramall Lane this summer after Dean Henderson arrived on loan from Manchester United for the season.

Chris Wilder will be looking to strengthen this summer as the Blades aim to break into the Championship picture, after falling out of the play-off picture towards the end of last season.

The verdict

It is not a transfer that will have people partying on the streets of Sheffield.

But Amissah is clearly a player with a lot of potential and it could well prove to be great business in three or four years time.

He will not be someone who will start regularly next season, however.

Therefore there is still plenty of work for Wilder to do this summer in order to get his team to the place he wants them to be.
