Sheffield United are hoping to hold contract talks with goalkeeper Simon Moore, as the club look to stave off bids from the Premier League and Championship clubs.

The 28-year-old lost his place for much of last season thanks to an injury in the opening six months of the season, seeing Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman take his place in the sticks at Bramall Lane.

However, Moore is a wanted man, and Championship rivals West Brom are keen on making a move for the former Cardiff City man.

The Sheffield Star though is reporting that Blades manager Chris Wilder is keen to keep hold of Moore, despite adding young Manchester United keeper Dean Henderson to the ranks on a season long loan deal.

Moore was signed by Wilder as his number one two seasons back and played a huge part in helping the club win promotion from League One. However, Moore will not want to sit twiddling his thumbs again next season if Wilder opts for Henderson as his number one, and a move away could well appeal to the stopper.

The Blades have recently sold David Brooks, and are expected to allow goalkeeper George Long to leave this week too as Wilder looks to overhaul his squad.

Blades fans, what do you think to this? Would you keep Moore? Let us know in the comments!
