Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has admitted some other 'pressing issues' will take priority in the coming weeks despite offering defenders Kieron Freeman and Enda Stevens new contracts.

Reported by the Sheffield Star, Wilder has said his behind the scenes staff will be somewhat busy over the coming weeks as he looks to land a number of January targets to ensure his team remain right in the promotion mix come the end of the season.

And Wilder has said that while he does want his players tied down to deals, the likes of Freeman and Stevens have 18 months left on their current deals, something he highlights as not 'an unbelievable priority' at the moment.

Wilder is thought to want to add a new striker to his squad after continuing calls from fans for the club to go out and land a top quality forward to fire them towards the promotion places, although the Star reports the Blades gaffer has asked his staff to compile reports on a host of other attacking midfield talents.

United lost out to rivals Leeds yesterday in a heated Yorkshire derby at Bramall Lane, and currently occupy the final playoff spot in the Championship at the moment.

Blades fans, what do you think to this? Has Wilder got his sights right? Let us know in the comments!
