SkyBet have installed Sheffield United as the 1/3 favourites to sign Everton’s Phil Jagielka this summer.

Jagielka left Bramall Lane ten years ago for Everton, and has since established himself as one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League, making almost 300 top-flight appearances for the Toffees.

The 34-year old made 27 Premier League appearances under Ronald Koeman last year, but Everton’s manager has previously admitted that Jagielka could leave Goodison Park in the near future.

Jagielka is now odds-on to return to Bramall Lane - where he made 287 appearances between 2000 and 2007, before securing a switch to Everton.

Chris Wilder’s Blades are returning to the Sky Bet Championship for the first time since 2011, and have already been extremely active in the transfer window, making four signings.

Ched Evans, Nathan Thomas, Enda Stevens and George Baldock have already been signed, but Wilder missed out on the experienced Ryan Bennett, after the central defender opted to move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wilder could now look to add Jagielka to his squad, with hope the former England international can bring some much-needed experience to his squad ahead of next season.

Jagielka has plenty of experience in the second-tier from his time with the Blades, and was part of Neil Warnock’s promotion winning side during the 2005/06 campaign.
