Sheffield United midfielder – ‘I want automatic promotion’

Published

Sheffield United winger Mark Duffy has made it clear that he believes anything other than a top-two finish would be a disappointment for the side this year.

Duffy moved to United this summer after helping Burton Albion win promotion last season and hopes to repeat his success with the South Yorkshire club.

The 31-year-old played a crucial role in Albion’s promotion last season, with the winger playing in all but one league game and being named in the PFA’s divisional team of the year.

Duffy stated to the club site that he thought the Blades had ‘a better squad’ than last year’s Albion side and should aim to at least match their achievement of promotion.

Chris Wilder’s team are enjoying a great run of form, as they are unbeaten in their last eight league games and currently sit in fourth.

The side will hope to push on from last Saturday’s resounding 4-0 victory over Port Vale and close the 7 point gap between themselves and league leaders Scunthorpe.
