After running away with the League One title last season, Sheffield United have comfortably adapted to life in the second tier.

For that, credit must go to lifelong fan and manager Chris Wilder. He has worked wonders throughout his managerial career and continued that at Bramall Lane.

The impressive 2-1 win at Sunderland was a real statement of intent, as the Blades recorded their first away win of the season.

Having fell to an unfortunate 1-0 defeat at Middlesbrough and a 2-0 reverse to Cardiff so far, victory at the Stadium of Light was their first at this level since 2011.

Such a promising performance will also have given the players added belief that they can really make a mark on the Championship.

Experienced striker Clayton Donaldson, who was making his debut, was the match-winner, notching with two impressive finishes. In fact, the only downside to a great day for the club was that the target man went off with an injury after his second goal.

With a busy remainder of the month, that could be a big blow, but it opens the door for the likes of Leon Clarke and Ched Evans to prove themselves.

Boasting a 100% home record from their three games, combined with Saturday's win, the Yorkshire club sit 5th.

Whilst it's too early in the season to make any significant judgements, you get the feeling this positive start will have fans of the newly-promoted club looking up rather than down.

Next up is a trip to Bolton, who are bottom of the league, but pressure will be on to build momentum.

After that, Norwich visit Bramall Lane before a mouth-watering Steel City derby against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. They round of the month with a home game against Wolves and a trip to Nottingham Forest.

Those final four games of the month look particularly tough.

Although, if the Blades continue to display the same intensity, organisation and quality that they have shown so far, they could surprise a few - and who knows how far it will take them.
