Sheffield United managed to fight back and take a point yesterday against a resilient Birmingham City side at Bramall Lane.

The late goal from Leon Clarke, which cancelled out Jeremy Boga's stunning opener, stopped it being consecutive home losses for United, and moved them back within touching distance of the automatic promotion places.

Despite the point and players being disheartened at the final whistle, Blades manager Chris Wilder refused to criticise his team, insisting he 'enjoyed watching' his team despite them not taking the three points.

Speaking to United's official website, the former Oxford and Northampton gaffer was proud of his team's display, and said that 'if they stick to believing in the game plan and each other, then they will be ok'.

Leon Clarke once again took the plaudits, with his ninth goal in November, but Wilder was pleased with his squad in general, and insisted his club have made 'huge strides' as a football club since he took over at the beginning of last season.

United have been in stunning form since returning to the Championship, and are well and truly in the mix for promotion as the season enters the busy Christmas period.
