Sheffield United have made a £10m offer for Swansea City's Oli McBurnie as Chris Wilder looks to add more firepower to his squad ahead of their Premier League return.

The Scotland international has established himself as one of the most lethal finishers outside the top-flight after a superb individual campaign last time out.

McBurnie weighed in with a very impressive 22 goals for the Swans and impressed with his overall play despite Graham Potter's side failing to seriously push for promotion.

And, his form certainly caught the eye of the Blades, with Sun reporter Alan Nixon confirming that a bid had been lodged on Twitter this evening.

However, it does appear that the initial offer will be rejected with the journalist following that up by saying their chase for the player is 'not over yet'.

Given the current fees in the transfer market it does seem highly unlikely that the Swans would accept an offer of £10m for the 23-year-old.

Should McBurnie depart he would be the latest big name out of the door for the Welsh side after Dan James joined Manchester United.

The Verdict

That offer is extremely low from the Blades and you can't imagine that it will take the Swans long to reject it.

When you consider McBurnie's age, he has serious potential and could go on to be a top player for the next decade.

So, the Championship side simply have to stand firm and it will be down to the newly-promoted side to make a serious offer if they want to bring him in.

From the Blades' perspective, he would be a great addition though as he is clearly capable of making the step up.
