Sheffield United could be the leading contenders to sign QPR defender and former Liverpool man Jack Robinson, according to the Sunday Mirror, print edition, Sunday 11th May.

The former England under-21 man, who can operate both at centre back and as a left back, is set to be out of contract in the summer, and Blades manager Chris Wilder is keen to sign the 24-year-old as he seeks to add some defensive reinforcements to his squad.

Robinson began his career at Anfield but found himself not in with a chance of breaking into the first team on a regular basis, and saw some success in loan moves to both Wolves and Blackpool.

He made the permanent shift away from the Reds in 2014, signing for QPR before sealing a loan move to Huddersfield, where he became a first team regular for the Terriers.

Robinson has gone on to make over 30 appearances for the R's since making his move to the club, and as well as being able to slot in across the back, he can also do a job in midfield, much like current Sheffield United mainstay Chris Basham.

The Blades are still in the hunt for a playoff place this term but manager Wilder will already have one eye on the summer, with the United gaffer well known for trying to conclude his summer business early on.

United fans, what do you think? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
