Ethan Ebanks-Landell’s future with Wolverhampton Wanderers is in doubt, which has put Sheffield United on alert, with Chris Wilder keen to bring the defender back to Bramall Lane, reports the Sheffield Telegraph

The 24-year old spent the 2016/17 campaign with the Blades, where he made 34 appearances and scored five goals, as Wilder’s side won promotion to the Sky Bet Championship.

However, during his time at Bramall Lane, the defender impressed his parent-club, and Wolves offered Ebanks-Landell a three-and-a-half year contract at Molineux, with Paul Lambert seemingly keen to involve him during the 2017/18 campaign.

Lambert and Wolves have since parted company, which has cast doubt over Ebanks-Landell’s future, with it unclear if the defender, features in Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans at Molineux.

Wilder is keen to add a central defender to his squad this summer, and having missed out on Ryan Bennett, who joined Wolves, his attentions have now turned to bringing Ebanks-Landell back.

The 49-year old has wasted no time in shaping his squad, and has made three new signings already this summer, ahead of the Blades’ first appearances in the Championship since 2011.

Enda Stevens has been brought in to bolster Wilder’s defensive options, whilst Ched Evans and Nathan Thomas offer depth to the Blades’ attack.
