The Sky Bet Championship is one of the most passionate and entertaining leagues in world football.
The league possesses a number of clubs who boast an impressive set of fans, who regularly make a racket to cheer on their side to victory.
But, who has the best home fans in the second tier?
The writers here at FLW have issued their verdicts…..
Sheffield United for me.
The Blades have had plenty to cheer about this season, of course, and that helps with the noise at Bramall Lane certainly helping yield some of their results.
Chris Wilder is one of them, too, and the whole feeling around the club is one of pulling in the same direction, so it’s small wonder they’re doing so well at the moment.
There are some great venues in the Championship and big crowds that create a fantastic atmosphere.
Leeds are the standout with regular attendances over 30,000 which is excellent. Wolves also deserve credit for having the biggest Molineux crowd since 1981 on Saturday and it really was rocking. However, they’re playing great football, so fans will inevitably show up.
Therefore, I’d say Sunderland. No home win in 2017, yet they have still had huge turnouts, with no home crowd below 25,000. Forget the atmosphere, those numbers are incredible for the state of the club – quite simply the team don’t deserve the support.
Leeds United continue to pull in some fantastic attendances, but I don’t feel they have the best home support.
There is a feel good factor around Wolverhampton Wanderers at this current time, and although the Molineux crowd can often be unforgiving, this season the place has been rocking.
The atmosphere in the recent victory over Aston Villa was exceptional. Everything surrounding the club is positive at the minute, and rightly so, the Molineux crowd can smell the Premier League.
