Sheffield United will play Premier League football next season following a memorable campaign in the Championship.

The Blades put in some superb showings throughout the season to seal a top two place and a spot back in the top flight for the first time in over ten years.

The Premier League will of course be a whole different ball game for Chris Wilder's men to compete in, and this summer will be a massive one for the club as they look to make their moves in the transfer market and add players of sufficient quality to ensure they have a good chance of survival.

This weekend has seen the club linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri, who got back into some of his better form towards the back end of the season, scoring a screamer at Norwich City to highlight his talents further.

However, for United to make a move for Forestieri is something which would surely worry some Blades fans, and there will be plenty of them who will be wary about their club spending a big sum of money on a player from their local rivals.

It's not just the fact he is an Owls player either, but more to do with the fact he hasn't shown his best form for some time now and has had various injury problems in the last few years.

Forestieri has bags of talent in the bank there is no doubt about that, but United will want young and hungry players, not players who might spit the preverbiable dummy out when the chips are down.

Blades fans do love and trust Chris Wilder fully though, and if he does make a move for Forestieri then the fans will back the striker the best way they can.

Overall though, it's a move which just doesn't seem to make full sense for the Blades and their fanbase, who are United together more than ever at the moment.
