Leeds United’s summer signing Lee Erwin is set to leave the club on a short term loan, with Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic among those interested, according to HITC.
The 21-year-old signed for the Yorkshire club from Motherwell at the end of last season, but has found first-team chances hard to come by since arriving at Elland Road, and Leeds are reportedly looking to loan the striker out in order to allow Erwin to gain some experience in playing in England.
Erwin has yet to feature in any of Leeds first five Championship games so far this season despite some promising displays for the under-21 side, and with Chris Wood and Marco Antenucci starting to find form for the club, Erwin’s opportunities look limited.
League One sides Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic are rumoured to be leading the chase for the youngster, whilst Barnsley, Bradford and Southend are also reportedly interested in securing Erwin on a temporary basis.
With a number of League One and Two sides interested, the chance to play first team football, albeit in a lower league, is likely to be an opportunity Erwin would welcome as he looks to prove himself to new Leeds boss Uwe Rosler.
Uwe Rosler’s Leeds United currently sit in tenth place in the Sky Bet Championship, and are unbeaten, having won once, and drawn four times.
