Sheffield United are eyeing a move for Fulham's Dan Burn on loan

After shipping three goals in two consecutive matches at Bramall Lane, FLW have been informed by a club insider at the club that manager Nigel Adkins is interested in adding to his defensive ranks, following harsh criticism against members of the Blades defence, including club captain Jay McEveley,  after their under-par performances in the 3-1 and 3-2 defeats to both Bury and Colchester respectively.

The former Scunthorpe United, Southampton and Reading boss has been alerted to the availability of 23-year-old Burn, who has fallen down the pecking order at Craven Cottage this season, making only one appearances for the Cottagers so far this term.

The physically imposing 6ft 7 central defender has prior experience of League One football, excelling for Yeovil on loan during the 2012/13 season, making 34 appearances and scoring two goals for the Glovers in the third tier as they gained promotion through the play-offs, with Burn himself scoring in the play-off final victory over Brentford at Wembley.

Following his impressive loan spell at Yeovil, Burn moved on a season long loan to Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City for the 2013/14 season . Burn again made an impression, becoming an established member of the Blues's first team, making 28 appearances for the club before being recalled by Fulham on the 2nd January 2014.

Between 2014 and 2015, Burn made 29 appearances for Fulham, both in the Premier League and the Championship, before falling out of favour at the beginning of this season.
