Nottingham Forest have agreed to sell Jack Robinson to Sheffield United for a "bargain deal", according to The Sun's live transfer blog (20/01, 10:15am)

The 26-year-old has made a total of 59 appearances for Forest since arriving from Queens Park Rangers last summer, but now looks set to leave the City Ground.

The left-back has played 19 times for Forest under Sabri Lamouchi this season, but has been in and out of the team as he continues to battle Yuri Ribeiro for a place in the side.

But according to The Sun's Alan Nixon, Forest have agreed to sell Robinson to Sheffield United for a "bargain" deal, in order to allow them to strengthen in other areas of the pitch.

The Blades are reportedly looking to add cover for Enda Stevens at left-back, and Robinson has seemingly emerged as a cheap, solid option for them.

The defender's current deal at Forest is set to expire at the end of the season, so Forest can either look to sell him now, rather than let him leave for free in the summer.

Sabri Lamouchi's side sit fifth in the Championship table, five points off the top two ahead of Wednesday's clash with Reading.

The Verdict

This is quite a surprising piece of transfer news, but I can't see it being a departure that Forest fans will be too unhappy with.

Robinson was solid under Aitor Karanka last term, however he has found it hard to replicate that form this season and has, hence, been in and out of the team.

A move to Sheffield United will be massive for him as it's a team in the Premier League, and for Forest, it would be better to sell him now rather than let him go for free in the summer.
