Sheffield United’s season has been an excellent one so far, with the Blades getting right in and amongst the promotion picture in the Championship.
Chris Wilder will be desperate to see his Blades squad continue their momentum into the second half of the season after seeing last season’s promotion charge grind to a halt at the turn of the year.
One of the big things for Wilder will be how active he can be during the January transfer window, and we at FLW think that the Blades need to go out and make some new signings in January in order to sustain their promotion push.
Despite the club looking at players in the upper echelons of football nowadays, we still think there’s some value down in League One, and one player we think would be a superb addition is Gillingham striker, Tom Eaves.
The 26-year-old has been in superb form this season, notching 11 goals thus far and proving he can indeed find the back of the net at will.
The next logical step for Eaves would be a move into the Championship, and if a club like United came knocking, it would be impossible for Eaves to turn down.
Chris Wilder loves getting the best out of players who might not always be obvious signings, and Eaves might well be just the sort of signing who can help United to a playoff spot.
Blades fans, what do you think? Would Eaves be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
