As quoted by Sheffield United's official website, the Blades' manager Chris Wilder has said that the wait is going to have to continue in terms of an update on Kieron Freeman's injury.

Things have started brilliantly so far this season for the Blades and they find themselves now as the chief challengers to Wolves at the top of the league after beating Ipswich 1-0 at the weekend.

For sure, it was another great result for the Blades in a season of real positives up until now but a fair few will be worried about Freeman who had to come off during the game at Bramall Lane.

What looked to be a knee injury, Freeman was stretchered off during the game and it's probable that he is going to be out for a fair amount of time.

There's no point speculating too much, though, with Wilder saying:

"Kieron's had a scan but there is still swelling around the knee. The medical specialists will continue to assess so at the moment there is no time frame on when he will be back in action."

The waiting game is set to continue, then, and Blades fans will hope that whatever the outcome it will not impact their form for the coming matches.

The Blades face Reading this weekend coming, and they'll be hoping to record another big win in this fantastic season so far.

The Verdict

Freeman, like so many others, has been playing well this season for the Blades and he is going to be a miss with the injury far from looking good.

The time-frame is still yet to revealed for him in terms of recovery, though, and so fans will hope it turns out to be shorter than it might have looked.
