Speaking to Sheffield United’s Twitter account, Chris Wilder had urged Blades fans to “drive us home” as they step up their bid from promotion from Sky Bet League One.

Wilder’s side extended their lead over Bolton Wanderers, to seven-points, at the top of League One last night, following a 2-0 victory over Millwall.

Goals from Jack O’Connell and Kieron Freeman either side of half-time handed the Blades a crucial three-points, as they look for a return to the Championship.

With just six fixtures left of the League One season, Wilder praised Blades’ supporters for once again turning up, and also urged them to help the club to promotion, he said: “It's really important the fans drive us home, I asked for their support and over 20k again on a Tuesday night is amazing.”

Wilder’s side are not in action over the weekend, but will be watching closely as Bolton and Fleetwood Town aim to cut the gap to the Blades.

United’s next fixture is a week today, when they face bottom of the table Coventry City, where Wilder will be confident his side can pick up another three-points and move a step closer to promotion.
