Slavisa Jokanovic is very enthusiastic about Rhian Brewster's progress at Sheffield United.

The England youth international striker has only scored once for the Blades since arriving from Liverpool but the Serbian was keen to point out his potential.

He said to the Star: "We are talking about one of the biggest talents in English football, however. He needs to push himself to be at the highest level.

"Is there a natural position for a player at 21? I don't know. He could end up where he is or being an excellent full back, seriously. People don't know."

After a tricky start to the season the Blades seem to have turned a corner with convincing victories over newly promoted Hull City and Peterborough United.

With Billy Sharp's early season form and Morgan Gibbs-White's emphatic introduction into the side, regular game time may be hard to come by with Brewster starting off the right flank at Hull last time out following an injury in the warm up.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps his place for the visit of troubled Derby County this Saturday.

Jokanovic's words suggest he sees versatility in the 21-year-old so that is one thing to monitor in the coming weeks.

The Verdict

It is good to see Brewster's development is at the front of Jokanovic's mind given the difficult spell at Bramall Lane it has been so far.

The 21-year-old is going to have to show what he can offer the team in a variety of positions to feel assured of a consistent spot in the side.

United have the chance to break into the top half with a win and give supporters belief that the turnaround is complete having languished towards the relegation zone for a concerning while in the opening knockings of the campaign.

Should his form pickup there will be scouts from all over the world watching Rhian Brewster it is down to Jokanovic bring that out of him.
