Chris Wilder has done a remarkable job with Sheffield United, with his side currently leading the way in the Championship, a position he will be confident they can maintain.

The Blades are unbeaten in their last five league matches and have won their last four in the league so they travel to face Frank Lampard's Derby full of confidence in getting three points at the weekend.

With a number of Wilder's squad in action over the international break, the Blades boss was pleased to have his players back in training with no new injuries picked up over the week break from club action.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of their game against Derby, Wilder revealed all the players returned to the club fit this morning.

"All the players have reported back fit this morning, so that’s good news," he told the Yorkshire Post.

The 51-year-old admitted that he was always wary that his players could come back with injuries which could seriously dent their promotion hopes this season.

"We are very proud of our players going away for international football, it’s a real feather in their cap and the football club."

"But the biggest thing every manager will be wary of is they come back and have not picked up a knock. Thankfully none of our guys have, so we are at full strength."

Wilder's side travel to Pride Park to face Frank Lampard's side in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday where they will look to justify their promotion credentials.

The Verdict:

Wilder's comments are shared by the majority of managers in the professional game, as no boss wants to see their players come back injured after international duty.

I can realistically see Sheffield Untied finishing in the top six this season, but to finish in the automatic promotion places might prove to be a tall order towards the end of the campaign.

The difference in the quality of depth that the Blades have compared to the rest of their promotion rivals is evident so Wilder will hope to keep his starting XI in good shape for the rest of the season in order to mount a serious title challenge.
