Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has revealed that the club will have plenty of money to play with during the January transfer window, and says that the club have not touched the money made from the sale of David Brooks.

United received £12m for Welshman from Bournemouth, who bought in the attacking midfielder in the summer, but the club are yet to make a dent in the fee.

"There are funds still there," Wilder told the Sheffield Star.

"There will be money available if needed.

"If we need to use it, we will. If we don't, then we won't. Really, it's as simple as that."

The Blades brought plenty of new faces to Bramall Lane over the summer, with Wilder even splashing out a club-record fee to bring John Egan to South Yorkshire.

Conor Washington, Dean Henderson, David McGoldrick, Kean Bryan, Ben Woodburn, Marvin Johnson and Martin Cranie all joined the club, but all signed either on loan or as free agent.

The Verdict

Sheffield United are a club currently in a very, very good place.

They have a brilliant manager and seem to be ran well from higher up, which leads to them finding themselves in a position of strength like this.

If they can stay in and around the top-six until January then they will be in a brilliant position to launch a serious bid for automatic promotion.
