This weekend in the Championship once again proved to be as unpredictable as ever, as Sheffield United leapfrogged Leeds back into second in the table.

With the Blades beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Bramall Lane, the pressure was on for Leeds to beat Wigan. However, the Whites inexplicibly chucked away a goal and man advantage to allow the Latics to take the three points and ensure Leeds dropped back to third in the table.

It was once again a pivotal weekend in the Championship, and it could well prove to be the big turning point in what has been a momentous race for promotion in the second tier.

For Sheffield United, it once again showed they have the mettle to stick out the promotion hunt, and showed that Chris Wilder has instilled a fight in his team which could well see them over the line come the end of the campaign.

On the part of Leeds though, it could well be curtains for them, as they chucked away a huge chance to secure second place in the Championship and more importantly, dealt themselves a massive psychological blow which mght just be too much for Bielsa's men to overcome.

Sometimes the manner in which a defeat is conceded is more important than actually losing the game, and this appeared to be the case here, with the Leeds players visibily slumped and devastated on the field come the final whistle.

We have seen time and again over the years big weekends like this have a massive impact on proceedings in the race for promotion, and this could prove the case here.

However, this is the Championship, and you just never know what might happen in what is the most unpredictable and exciting league in the world.
