Giannelli Imbula has claimed that the worst decision in his career was joining Stoke City.

The midfielder had joined the Potters in a club record deal. He signed for £18.3 million from Porto back in 2016 when Stoke were in the Premier League.

Since dropping down to the Championship the 26-year-old has fallen out of favour. The former PSG academy player was relegated on loan at a Rayo Vallecano side who finished bottom last season.

He hasn't had the best of times since joining Stoke, he even spent the season the Potters were relegated out on loan at Toulouse.

In a revealing interview with RMC Sport, Imbula said: “The worst choice (of my career) was to come to Stoke. I could have been a little more patient in Porto, trying to adapt to the championship... especially as we had changed coaches.

"I could have had the opportunity to play. The most unfortunate choice, I think was Stoke.”

The midfielder is now training with the Under-23s instead of the first-team.

Here's how Stoke's supporters reacted to Imbula's comments...
