Bradford need a win against Gillingham to end their slump.

This match is just as important for Simon Grayson personally because he is yet to pick up his first win as Bradford manager. Weather has played a major part due to the cancellation of games, but this is his fifth game in charge.

The Bantams have only picked up one point since he has been in charge as well as a measly total of two in the last ten games. This has caused them to fall down the table, but they still have an outside chance of finishing in the play-offs if they end the season strongly.

However, they desperately need a win in this game if they want to have any chance of achieving that.

Here's the XI that Grayson should play in a 3-5-2 formation.

Doyle starts in goal as usual with little competition for this position unless he gets injured.

Kigallon starts as the right centre-back in the three with defensive solidity the main focus for Grayson in order to create a sustainable platform to build from.

The captain starts in the centre of defence and is tasked with closing down any players that are able to find space with the ball between the defence and the midfield.

Knight-Percival is the final part of the experienced back three. This unit is the key part of the team and Grayson will be relying on them to set the example for the rest of the team.

McMahon should start as the right wing-back. His role is key because he is the widest player on that flank, so he is key in cutting out danger and providing attacking threat.

Similar to McMahon, Robinson has to ensure that he balances his duties effectively because he is a key part of the defensive unit. If the wing-backs are out of position then the centre-backs can be pulled wide which stretches the unit as a whole.

Dieng will sit in front of the defence as a defensive screen in order to help stifle the opposition and control the midfield.

Law will sit alongside Nieng and support McMahon on the wing with a box-to-box midfield role.

Guy will do the same as Law, but on the opposite side. They will both be key in ensuring that Bradford win the midfield battle because without that the Bantams offer little in this formation.

Charlie Wyke is still absent and Shay McCartan has done little to impress so Poleon deserves a chance.

Alongside Poleon should be Gilliead who has been a constant presence up front all season.
