Leeds United teenagers Illan Meslier and Ryan Edmondson have been named in the starting XI for the U23s clash with Birmingham City today, which has left many Whites fans frustrated that they're unlikely to feature tomorrow.

Carlos Corberan's side take on the Blues in Group H of the Premier League Cup at Loughborough Stadium this afternoon.

Amongst the notable inclusions in the side are Meslier, Edmondson, Nohan Kenneh, Mateusz Bogusz, and Liam McCarron, while Bobby Kamwa makes the bench.

The involvement of Meslier suggests that Kiko Casilla is likely to keep his place in goal when Leeds travel to Loftus Road to face QPR tomorrow lunchtime.

The Spaniard was at fault for the first goal against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend and has taken some flak from fans recently.

Another man that has been criticised recently is Patrick Bamford, who is currently the only striker in the senior squad but is without a goal in his last four games.

Edmondson's start indicates he is likely to reprise his role as the starting forward against QPR.

The teenage duo's inclusion today has frustrated some Leeds fans, who it seems would've preferred to see them with the first team tomorrow.
