With Reading currently sitting in 22nd place of the Championship table and having failed to register a win in their last six games this season, it is perhaps unsurprising that the Berkshire club's hierarchy took the decision to release manager Jose Gomes from his position yesterday. 

With the news still fresh in the fan's minds, it was perhaps a bad time for one of the club's senior players, in the form of captain Liam Moore, to comment on the departure of Gomes so soon after it had been announced.

With the Royals skipper expressing his apologies to both the Portuguese manager and the clubs supporters via a post on his official Twitter account.

As many people would expect, the post was met by anger being vented at Moore and his teammates from the club's supporters, who clearly feel the blame should also be shouldered by the squad for the club's poor showings this season.
