‘Shame’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to potential player exit

Published

on

Zach Clough could be set for a January move away from Nottingham Forest – with League One side Wigan interested in signing the midfielder, as Football League World exclusively revealed on Monday.

Clough moved to the City Ground from Bolton back in 2016, but has been restricted to just 31 appearances on the River Trent, and hasn’t played for the Reds since an FA Cup game against Hull City back in January 2018.

The 25-year-old returned to Bolton for the second-half of that season, before spending the 2018-2019 campaign on loan at Rochdale.

However, Clough hasn’t played a senior competitive match since his time at Spotland and now the Latics, who find themselves in the third-tier relegation-zone, are keen on giving the former Bolton man a potential lifeline.

Clough’s deal at the City Ground expires at the end of the current season, but sources close to Wigan believe that a January move to the DW Stadium could be on the cards, despite the midfielder’s last taste of first-team action coming nearly two years ago.

Here’s how Forest supporters have been reacting on Twitter to Clough’s potential departure:
