Blackpool have confirmed the signing of left-back Marc Bola form Middlesbrough on-loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Tangerines have brought in Marc Bola on loan for the remainder of the season, seeing him spend his second stint at the club, after leaving for Teesside in the summer.

He moved to Championship club Middlesbrough in the summer but hasn’t hit the heights that many expected from him when he arrived at the Riverside. He had the chance to hold down a regular first-team place under Jonathan Woodgate with the long-term injury to George Friend leaving a gaping hole in the side.

Hayden Coulson’s efforts also hampered any chances he had of making regular appearances for Boro too, meaning a move away in January was his best chance at regular football. This lead to the recently announced loan move back to Bloomfield Road, where he made 35 appearances last season, scoring two goals and registering two assists.

Speaking to the club’s official site, Bola was clearly ecstatic to be back at his former club, he said: “It feels very good to be back. I’ve been welcomed by my team-mates and the staff and I can’t wait to get back playing now. I’m looking to pick up from where I left off and play as many games as I can.”

It never quite worked out for the left-back at the Riverside and a move away was always on the cards this month. It was clear he has fallen out of favour with Woodgate, with his last appearance coming in the 4-0 demolition against Leeds, which might have spelt the end of his season at Boro.

With this announcement set to provoke contrasting reactions from fans of both clubs, we take a look at how they responded to the news on Twitter...
