Norwich City have completed the signing of Kenny McLean from Aberdeen, however the midfielder will stay in Scotland with the Dons until the end of the season.
City have completed the signing of midfielder Kenny McLean from Aberdeen. #ncfc

The 26-year was out of contract in the summer and told the SPL club months ago that he wouldn’t be signing a new deal at Pittodrie.
This prompted significant speculation that he was set to move to rivals Rangers, however he has opted to head down south and join Norwich instead.
McLean, who has won two caps for Scotland, will link up with his new teammates in the summer and told the official site how happy he was to be signing for the Championship side.
Whilst most Norwich fans are delighted at the signing of the player, particularly as it will be a good deal given his contract status, many questioned the decision to send him back on loan.
Here’s how they reacted to the news on twitter…
Shambolic #ncfc just gets worse beyond any words now

When Norwich City say they have a long term plan, they actually mean they have a long term plan don't they. Not throwing £8mil at a failed player from another team in order to look busy like the last few years. Good to see the club planning for the future.

Didn’t wanna leave @AberdeenFC without getting them a fee but wanted to better his career. We don’t need CMs until Tettey & Reed leave at end of season, seems like good move for all parties. Donno if he’s any good though!?

Lets sign someone then send him out on loan again, we need depth

When he was told the style of play he said I'm going back to Scotland until end of season #WasteTime

Why buy and loan back? Its simple other clubs wanted to buy him now at least tgis way Norwich secure the signing by helping Aberdeen out to making sure they get there man for the next campaign, but i agree they need more depth now the Sheff Utd game showed that

Is there really any Point in Norwich signing players if they’re just going to send them out on loan again
— Luke (@peacher_luke) January 22, 2018
