The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) are reportedly working with Sheffield Wednesday and the Owls squad to sort out the player wages issue, which has drawn an interesting reaction from fans of the Yorkshire club.

Reports earlier this week indicated that a number of Wednesday players are considering quitting the club due to the ongoing issue, with wages not being paid in full or on time in recent months.

According to Yorkshire Live, the PFA were called in to speak to Owls officials due to a similar issue back in December and are now working with them to try and resolve the situation.

Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has made it no secret that the current national situation and a lack of fans in stadiums has caused the club cash flow issues.

Despite releasing a significant chunk of their senior squad following relegation to League One, it seems the Owls are still struggling.

Elsewhere, The Telegraph has reported that players have refused a proposal that would have seen part of their wages paid via the Government's job retention scheme.

The ongoing off-field issues at the club will be making things very difficult for Darren Moore as he begins preparations for League One and it seems to have left plenty of Wednesday fans frustrated and concerned.
