West Brom made their first major transfer of the summer with Sam Johnstone joining the club for around £6.5m.

It was a much-needed boost for Darren Moore and The Baggies who had suffered frustration in the market earlier in the month when target Bobby Reid went to Cardiff City.

Albion will be on the lookout for several new players as there could be a lot of outgoings too in the coming weeks.

Ben Foster has joined Watford whilst the likes of Craig Dawson, Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon are also expected to leave.

Yet, if the West Midlands side aren't decisive in the market they could miss out on key targets - as they did with Reid.

Here we look at three deals they need to wrap up as soon as possible...

Dawson's expected departure, combined with Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans leaving means Albion are short of central defensive options.

Therefore, they should go all-out to land Bartley, who is sure to be available from Swansea. He is proven at this level, a real leader and would seriously improve Moore's defence.

The Brentford playmaker is exactly what Albion need and would be a major signing.

They're lacking a player who can dictate the tempo but Woods can do it at this level. Moore wants to sign Woods and the Bees have shown in the past they will sell for the right fee.

Another Brentford player they want is attacking midfielder Sawyers.

Again, it's easy to see why as they are lacking a creative number ten and the 26-year old fits the bill, so Albion should look to conclude a deal ASAP.
