Wolves have had a poor season given the expectation that was surrounding the club at the start of the season.

An influx of foreign signings and a new takeover which brought with it a new manager in Walter Zenga, was expected to galvanise the club and send them rocketing towards the promotion places.

However, some of those signings have been flops, and manager Zenga has since been replaced by Paul Lambert as the club languish in the lower echelons of the Championship table.

The Wolves squad though does have plenty of talent, and within that talent there are those players who will always be seen as underrated.

Every team has that player, the one who puts in a shift of does the unseen things, and they are vital cogs in any squad.

With that in mind, here are TWO Wolves players who are seriously underrated...

Matt Doherty

Probably not underrated within the club, but outside of Wolves little is made of the full back's impressive and consistent performances.

The Wolves player of the season from last year is a top pro, and it is surprising that he is never linked with moves away when the transfer window rolls around.

Doherty is top class, and will be as frustrated as anyone with the form of the team this season.

Dave Edwards

Mr Reliable Dave Edwards is probably going to do down a Wolves legend among fans.

The versatile midfield ace embodies everything what Wolves fans expect from their players, and as well as being a model pro, he is also an excellent footballer.

Edwards always seems to chip in with vital goals, and despite the change in managers over the years, he has remained one of the players who is always selected, regardless of coach.
