QPR have struggled to find consistency this season, which has played a huge part in deciding Rangers' current league position of 18th.

The R's found themselves deeper in a relegation battle at the start of the season but a run of three wins in their last six games has pulled the further clear, but the nine point cushion isn't insurmountable for the bottom three.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink lost his job back in November and his replacement was returning boss, Ian Holloway, who has steadied the ship at Loftus Road.

Holloway had January to bolster his ranks to try and propel Rangers up the table but with limited finances, he has done well to recruit in the way he did.

Despite the January arrivals, the existing players at Loftus Road have vastly improved under Holloway, with a lot of their work going unnoticed and their contribution often undervalued.

Here, FLW writer Chris Wilson looks at TWO players who deserve more recognition at Loftus Road...

Joel Lynch

Lynch has been a solid presence at the back for QPR this season, but even more so since Ian Holloway took over and if he was to drop out of their back line, the defence would be far weaker.

Lynch is a no nonsense centre half, but there is more to his game than just defending, he is composed on the ball and is capable of playing out from the back.

The defensive work that Lynch does, often goes unnoticed and if Rangers are to pull themselves up the table, Lynch will be a key part of their success.

Idrissa Sylla

Sylla hasn't exactly been prolific this season for QPR, which is what a strikers job is, but even when he isn't scoring, he is still more than contributing to the team.

Sylla is great at holding play up and bringing his team mates into play, which is a driving force in the R's attack. If Sylla added more goals to his game, then he has the potential to be one of the league's top strikers.

The Guinean striker is also prepared to work hard for the team and put a shift in defensively, which is why Holloway has put his trust in him.
