Sunderland saw their winless run extend to eight matches on Saturday afternoon as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Blackpool at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats fell behind following Matty Virtue's opener after just four minutes before Charlie Wyke levelled the scores before half-time, but the chances of Sunderland completing their comeback were reduced when George Dobson was dismissed in the second half.

The result means Phil Parkinson's side are languishing at 12th in the Championship table with the midway point of the season fast approaching, but the north-east club are only four points short of the play-offs with a game in hand on some sides.

However, this has understandably not stopped Sunderland fans from voicing their frustrations with the side at present, with a promotion challenge looking increasingly less likely given recent performances and results.
