Second-tier side Peterborough United have completed the signing of 26-year-old midfielder Jorge Grant from Lincoln City, with the former Imps man signing a three-year deal at London Road.

Grant scored 13 goals and picked up 7 assists last season as he guided Michael Appleton's side to the League One play-off final last month, where they missed out on promotion after losing 2-1 to Neil Critchley's Blackpool.

The Seasiders joined Peterborough in the Championship - and with their enhanced league status - Darren Ferguson's side have capitalised on this and tempted the 26-year-old to London Road where Grant is likely to be a regular.

After spending much of his younger playing days at Nottingham Forest, the versatile midfielder went out on loan to Notts County, Luton and Mansfield Town before moving to Lincoln in 2019, spending two seasons at the LNER Stadium before making this move to Peterborough.

In January, the League One side tied Grant down to a new deal, keeping him at the club until 2023. With this, they are likely to receive a considerable fee for the 26-year-old with a set fee being put in this contract agreement.

However, Nottingham Forest are also set to receive a chunk of his transfer fee after agreeing a sell-on clause with the Imps when they agreed a deal for the midfielder back in 2019. The percentage of this clause remains undisclosed.

For Lincoln City supporters, this is pretty much irrelevant after losing one of their star men. But after having such a great season, perhaps they were expecting him to move on if they failed to get to the second tier?
