Brentford winger Sergi Canos has bid farewell to his ex-teammate who has just sealed a successful move to the Premier League.

Defender Ezri Konsa signed for Aston Villa earlier today in a reported £12million deal.

The Spaniard took to Instagram to give a goodbye message to his former colleague, and wrote: "Big congratulations mi hermano" to his 25,800 followers on one of his Instagram stories (@sergicanos).

The two have been together at the club since Konsa joined last summer from Charlton Athletic.

Konsa has now linked up with former manager Dean Smith after he brought him to Brentford one-year prior.

Konsa played 42 times in the Championship last season and was one of the club’s stand out performers, earning him a position in the England u-21 squad for the Euros.

The Verdict

Konsa has had a sharp rise to the Premier League and in doing so is having to leave some teammates behind.

It's a good deal for everyone, with Brentford once again showing their brilliance in the transfer market by making £10million out of the youngster after one great year.

There always seems a good team spirit at Brentford and Konsa definitely seemed apart of that. However, he will be replaced by Pontus Jansson, so they certainly won't be missing out on any character.
