‘Sensible decision’, ‘Best of luck’ – Plenty of Blackburn fans react as club make player decision

Six new names have arrived at Blackburn Rovers this summer including the likes of Christian Walton, Sam Gallagher, Tosin Adarabioyo, Bradley Johnson and Stewart Downing.

But the latest news to emerge from Ewood Park was that of a departure as striker Joe Nuttall left to join Blackpool on a permanent deal.

Nuttall made the move to Ewood Park in the summer of 2017 after a successfull trial following his release from Aberdeen.

In total, he made 37 appearances for Rovers, netting eight times, playing a part in the club’s promotion-winning campaign from League One in 2018.

It takes the number of departures from Blackburn to five this summer, following David Raya, Paul Downing, Scott Wharton and Charlie Albinson out of the door.

He scored twice in the second-tier last season as well as the Lancashire club successfully retained their Championhsip status following that promotion, but whilst some fans were disappointed he never quite hit the heights expected of him, the consensus was that this was the right decision…
