Keiren Westwood's Sheffield Wednesday career has been given a potential lifeline by new Owls manager Tony Pulis.

The fan favourite hasn't played a single minute for Wednesday since a defeat at West Brom last November, and has been training with the club's Under-23s following a reported fall-out with former boss Garry Monk.

However, Pulis spoke highly of the goalkeeper when addressing the press on Monday afternoon, and not only described Westwood as "one of the best in the Championship", but admitted that he would pick the 36-year-old if he was available.

That's because Westwood was axed from Wednesday's 25-man Championship squad, meaning he is unable to feature until January.

We've been looking at how the Hillsborough faithful have been reacting to this news, and it's gone down a treat - with many desperate to see Westwood back in the starting XI, following a difficult 12 months.
