West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi put in a hugely impressive performance for Nigeria in midweek, as the Super Eagles held Brazil to a 1-1 draw in Singapore.

It may have been an international friendly, but Brazil had plenty of talent on show, with world superstars Neymar, Thiago Silva, Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus all starting for the South American side.

But it was Nigeria who took the lead on the night, with former Charlton Athletic midfielder Joe Aribo putting them into a 1-0 lead with 35 minutes on the clock.

Brazil did grab an equaliser early in the second-half, with Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro getting himself on the scoresheet.

But despite having 70% possession of the ball, Ajayi and his teammates defended magnificently well to prevent Brazil from finding a winner, and in the end, a 1-1 draw was the final result.

Baggies centre-half Ajayi has since took to

The pair have been two of West Brom's standout performers so far this season, helping Slaven Bilic's side climb to top spot in the Sky Bet Championship table.

They return to league action with a trip to Middlesbrough this weekend.

The Verdict

What a performance from Nigeria to grind out a draw against Brazil - it wasn't as if they parked the bus either, as they weren't afraid to attack themselves.

Ajayi has been an unbelievable signing for West Brom so far, and for the money they got him for, he's looking to be one of the best signings of the Championship.

He and Diangana will be so important in helping the Baggies achieve their goals of promotion this term.
