West Brom remain well on course to win a timely promotion back into the Premier League this season under the guidance of Slaven Bilic.

The Baggies are currently sat second in the second tier standings, and will be keen to hold their nerve in the battle for promotion, with nine games remaining this term.

However, they are winless in their last two games, so they'll be itching to get back to winning ways when fixtures do get back underway in the Championship.

One player that has certainly played his part in their impressive showings so far this season is Semi Ajayi, who has made 37 appearances, and also chipped in with five goals from defence in his first season at the club, after completing a move to the Hawthorns from Rotherham United in the summer of 2019.

There have been a fair share of goals that would be more than worthy of winning a West Brom Goal of the Season competition, but the defender weighed in with his verdict on one goal in particular.

Speaking in a Q&A session on his Instagram page, Ajayi revealed that Charlie Austin's goal against Birmingham City was his favourite so far in this year's campaign for the Baggies.

The Verdict:

What a goal this was.

Austin showed his class at this level with an excellent finish that proved to be the difference between the two sides on the day, as they pulled further clear of their promotion rivals in the Championship.

He had only been on the pitch for three minutes when he scored his first goal of the game, and followed that up with his second just eight minutes later.

Ajayi and Austin have both played their part in West Brom's bid for promotion this season, and I can't see any teams stopping them from making a timely return to the Premier League this term.
