Sunderland face what is arguably their most important game of the season as they prepare to face Coventry City on Sunday.

A 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night made it five games without defeat for the Black Cats as they strengthened their quest for an automatic promotion spot.

Phil Parkinson's side are currently fourth in League One but could plausibly find themselves in League One's top two if they were to get a good result this weekend.

The Sky Blues currently hold second place in the league meaning that Sunday's encounter is a classic promotion six-pointer.

Parkinson will be hoping to name the strongest side possible, but has a couple of injury concerns to contend with.

But who will start for the Black Cats? We take a look at the potential starting XI...

Phil Parkinson certainly has some big decisions to make ahead of tomorrow's trip to Coventry City.

Bailey Wright will of course miss the clash with an ankle injury that will rule him out for the season, while Parkinson could also be without two other key players for the promotion six-pointer.

Lynden Gooch and Charlie Wyke are doubtful for the clash after picking up groin and back injuries respectively.

Parkinson is expected to make a late call on both players, however he did hint at making some changes after accusing his players of 'overconfidence' going into the clash with Fleetwood Town.

That means that these injuries could mean an opportunity for two out of favour stars.

Antoine Semenyo and Kyle Lafferty have had to be incredibly patient since arriving at the club in January.

Both have been top choices to come off the bench in the last few weeks but are yet to start a game for Sunderland due to the form of their attacking players.

Do you know where these 15 Sunderland players were signed from? Have a go!

But with some massive games coming up, it's unlikely that Gooch and Wyke will be risked unless they are 100% fit.

Elsewhere it's likely to be a similar line-up to that which started on Tuesday night, however some players will be pushing for a start.

Declan John and Josh Scowen are yet to get a real chance to impress since joining the club and after impressing in a behind-closed-doors match midweek, they may fancy their chances of coming into the team.

Joel Lynch has also returned from injury, however he could find it tough to replace the likes of Tom Flanagan and Jordan Willis who have been strong in recent weeks.

Whoever Phil Parkinson does pick will face a tough test as the clash with Coventry City is bound to hold huge repercussions for both sides as they target promotion to the Championship.
