Jack Ross has revealed that he's torn between his two centre forwards at present, with both Josh Maja and Jerome Sinclair making a claim on a first team spot.

He was quoted by the Sunderland Echo saying he could pick either or both as he hunts points in a bid to return to the Championship. This weekend they face Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe Wanderers, a team tough to break down and resilient at the back.

Ross revealed he's unsure which of his strikers to play, with both showing the sort of form that would earn them a first team spot at any other side in the division. With a crucial run of games coming up, both in the FA Cup and the League, there's a big choice to be made by the former St Mirren man.

That's only going to get harder as the weeks progress and Charlie Wyke regains fitness, but for now it is a two-horse race.

Who should Ross pick? We look at the pros and cons of each in our latest gallery article.

Sinclair is perhaps the stronger of the two, built to withstand the sort of attention they're likely to get from the Wycombe defence.

It'll be a battle out there, certainly tougher than most of the others they've faced and that may suit Sinclair over Maja.

Maja is a natural finisher, something he has over his rival.

He's scored ten times this season and right now, if he gets a chance the likelihood is that he'll score.

That is a valuable attribute to have and one which might see him given the nod over the Watford man.

Although he's been the subject of a few transfers, Sinclair hasn't played many games.

He's recently played three times in a week and was described as 'leggy' by the boss afterwards. Could that lack of regular game time be a reason to rest him this weekend, ensuring he's fitter for the winter period?

At 19-years old there's a youthful exuberance to Maja, but will he show the maturity to lead the line against bruising defenders?

He's played against all variety of players so far this season, but when he's been left out it is for physicality reasons.

Could his guile and craft be held back this week, utilised better against different defensive approaches?
