‘Season’s done’, ‘Good news’ – These Stoke fans react as senior player ruled out for rest of the campaign

Stoke City have been dealt a big blow as it was revealed that James McClean may miss the rest of the season due to injury.

The Ireland international has played 24 times for the Potters in the Championship, scoring twice but he recently missed a whole lot of games due to injury.

McClean picked up an injury in training before Stoke’s clash with Barnsley at the end of February, and his Instagram account shortly after showed him in an air boot which made it seem like a serious injury.

The 31-year-old missed the whole of March for Stoke, but he was still called up by Ireland for their two World Cup qualifiers and their friendly against Qatar, starting once and coming off the bench twice for Stephen Kenny’s side as they failed to win any of their three games.

But it seems as though his stint with the national squad may have aggravated his problem and he could have done with two weeks more rehab, as the winger has broken down once again.

Are these 17 facts about Stoke City’s club badge true or false?

Stoke City's first club crest was established in 1882

He came off the bench against Millwall on Easter Monday, but hadn’t been able to train since that and it’s a reoccurrence of the heel injury that he suffered a month ago.

Michael O’Neill doesn’t believe that McClean will play again this season and although Stoke’s season is probably ending in a mid-table finish now, his absence is still frustrating for fans, who have been reacting on social media.
