The fallout from Leeds United’s FA cup defeat to Newport County is continuing today, with the inquest only just beginning into the Whites’ embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Sky Bet League Two opposition.

Gaetano Berardi’s early strike put Leeds in control, but an own-goal from Conor Shaughnessy gave Newport hope late in the contest, before Shawn McCoulsky’s header secured a passage to the fourth-round for the underdogs.

Leeds’ afternoon was made worse following Newport’s winning goal, with Samuel Saiz sent-off in the aftermath, with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that the 26-year-old had spat at a member of the opposition.

Saiz is reportedly facing six-match ban following hi red-card, which will mean the 26-year-old could be absent until mid-February, missing a number of key Championship fixtures.

Following allegation aimed at Saiz, the Spanish forward has received plenty of criticism from Leeds’ supporters, who are frustrated by the player’s actions.
