Cardiff City captain Sean Morrison has revealed that attacking midfielder Lee Tomlin is one of the best in training and that some of the things he does are 'scandalous'.

The attacking midfielder has been like a man reborn since Neil Harris took over as Cardiff manager last November with Tomlin now being a key figure in how the Bluebirds like to play.

The 31-year-old was again coming to the side's rescue on Saturday as his turn and shot from the edge of the area nestled in the bottom corner when away to Luton Town, sealing a valuable three points for the side.

Morrison was speaking to WalesOnline ahead of their trip to Huddersfield Town tomorrow said: "Tommo is a joke as a player.

"You guys see him in games and stuff — and he’s an incredible player — but the stuff he does in training is scandalous. Sometimes you just look at him and go, ‘This guy is just so good at football, man.’ How is he so good?

"It’s a pleasure to play with someone like that, someone with so much flair and quality.

"If we can build a solid base from the back and keep a clean sheet or defend well and keep goals out, when you’ve got players like him on the pitch, you’ve always got a chance of winning the game."

The attacking midfielder had only appeared seven times and scored one goal this season when Warnock was in charge but he has since gone on to score six goals in 15 league games under Harris.

Harris has been able to put the belief back into Tomlin and has him playing the way that he should be as he is the rightful poster boy of Cardiff's team.

The Verdict

Tomlin has shown lately that he is capable of the sublime with subtle flicks and tricks while on the ball that creates space for the players around him.

Morrison sees the attacking midfielder do it in training most days and seems as if he is slightly taken aback by the form that he is showing, but is relishing playing alongside him as it makes his job easier at the back.
