Newly-promoted Scunthorpe United have confirmed on their official site the signing of Burnley full-back Luke O’Neill on a three month loan deal.
O’Neill is the League 1 side’s second signing of the day, following the arrival of Billy Kee from Burton Albion earlier on this afternoon.
The 22 year-old has only made one appearance for the Clarets after signing for an undisclosed fee from Mansfield Town back in 2012, and spent time on loan at League 2 sides York City and Southend United last season, appearing 15 times in all.
He had loan spells with Kettering Town and Tranmere Rovers earlier on in his career when he was on the books at Leicester City, having come up through the youth ranks at the King Power Stadium.
He has netted six times from right-back during his career, and goes straight into the Iron’s squad for their home game against Fleetwood Town tomorrow night.
