Fulham boss Scott Parker has said he is wary that Huddersfield Town are a “wounded animal” that will “come out fighting” ahead of the Championship fixture on Friday.

The Terriers are yet to win so far this season, having picked up just one point from their opening Championship fixtures and lost to Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup.

Fulham travel to the John Smith’s Stadium tomorrow evening to face Huddersfield and, speaking to the club website, Parker said he was aware of the threat they posed.

He said: “They have started the season a little bit slow.

“In saying that, it’s a wounded animal we’re going to play, a team that’s going to come out fighting, scrapping, and trying to do everything they can to get the result.

“We’re fully aware of what we’re going into. Last year we went there and it was a tough game with the crowd behind them, so we’re not expecting anything different.

“They’ve come down from the Premier League, they’re a good outfit with some good individual players, and I’m sure they’ll be around [the promotion race].”

Fulham bounced back from their 1-0 opening weekend defeat to Barnsley by beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 in their first home game of the season last Saturday.

Parker’s side will be hoping to bounce straight back up to the Premier League this season.

The Verdict

Both sides came down from the Premier League last season but early indications are that only one of them will be competing to get back up in the 2019/20 campaign.

Huddersfield have looked really poor so far and it would be understandable if Terriers fans are concerned about their season under boss Jan Siewert already.

After a wobble against Barnsley at Oakwell, Fulham looked much better against Blackburn and they should only improve as their summer signings settle in.
