Scott Parker may have lost Ryan Sessegnon to Spurs but he is more than happy with the arrival of Josh Onomah, who was also involved in the deal.

Parker has known about the 22-year-old since his time at Spurs, and no doubt would have had an eye on him during spells at Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

Earlier in his career Onomah was tipped for big things, and now he has the opportunity to settle he could begin to realise that potential.

Speaking ahead of Fulham's clash with Huddersfield Town on Friday, Parker told the club's official Twitter account: "When I was a player at Spurs, Josh Onomah stood out, as a young player, with his talent.

"This is his home now. If we can get him to where we need him to be, we've got some player on our hands."

Onomah could be in line for his first Fulham appearance against Huddersfield, after being left out of the squad in last weekend's clash with Blackburn Rovers.

The Cottagers have a number of options in attacking midfield so Onomah will have to work hard and prove his quality to the manager, but Parker's faith in him should give him the confidence to succeed.

The Verdict

Onomah is a very talented player but so far in his spells in the Championship he has lacked consistency, which could be a concern for Parker.

However, Fulham play in a fluid and attacking style which should really suit his game. He will be able to take up threatening positions and link up with the likes of Anthony Knockaert and Ivan Cavaleiro so should create chances on a regular basis.

He is still learning and developing but playing in a team which should win most of their games will benefit him a great deal, and like Parker suggests he certainly has the potential to become one of their best players.
