Scott Hogan says he would "love nothing more" than for Lukas Jutkiewicz to reach 20 goals in all competitions for Birmingham City this season.

The 27-year-old has formed a superb strike partnership with Jutkiewicz since arriving on loan from Aston Villa, and both played a key role in the 3-3 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

Jutkiewicz fired in an effort from the edge of the area to put Blues 2-1 up on the afternoon, which happened to be his 13th goal of the campaign in all competitions.

Hogan also popped up with a magnificent stoppage time equaliser to make it four goals in five games since joining the West Midlands club on loan for the rest of the season.

Both players set up each other for their goals at the weekend, too, which shows just how much of an impressive partnership and understanding they have struck up in recent weeks.

Speaking to Birmingham Live, Hogan spoke about the impact of his teammate, hoping that he can reach the 20-goal mark before the end of the season.

He said: "I get the assist for his goal and he scores and he gets the assist for my goal and I score. It looks well when both strikers have scored and assisted each other and he is brilliant, he really is.

"He just does everything. He does all the dirty work and is happy to do it. He will come and tell you to get up the pitch and says ‘I’ll do this and that’.

"He is a fantastic pro and getting the just rewards with his goals and there is a long way to go this season and I’ve only been here a few weeks but the type of person he is, and what he does every day for the lads, I’d love nothing more than for him to get to 20 goals."

After salvaging a late point against Garry Monk's Owls, Birmingham sit 14th in the Championship table and are currently eight league games unbeaten.

The Verdict

Hogan and Jutkiewicz have struck up a really good partnership since joining Birmingham, and it has shades of the Che Adams/Jutkiewicz partnership we saw last season.

The big-man-little-man partnership seems to work really well for Blues and with Jutkiewicz up top, they always have a focal point to aim for.

Hogan is loving life at Birmingham, it's clear to see with the amount of goals he's scoring.
